Oral Histories

The SFA oral history program documents life stories from the American South. Collecting these stories, we honor the people whose labor defines the region.

Charleston Receipts Cookbook

Vereen Coen was born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina. Her mother, Mary Vereen Huguenin, was one of the two editors of Charleston Receipts, a cookbook published by the Junior League of Charleston in 1950.
