Oral Histories

The SFA oral history program documents life stories from the American South. Collecting these stories, we honor the people whose labor defines the region. If you would like to contribute to SFA’s oral history collections, please send your ideas for oral history along with your CV or Resume and a portfolio of prior oral history work to info@southernfoodways.org.

ORAL HISTORY

XTRA: On the Radio

Just a couple of weeks after Hurricane Katrina in August 2005, Bob Edwards interviewed Amy C. Evans, our lead oral historian, about the Bartenders of New Orleans oral history project. Amy conducted the interviews for this project in March 2005, six months before the storm.

Many thanks to the folks at the Bob Edwards Show and XM Satellite Radio for recognizing our work and the bartenders of New Orleans.
