Allie Hochman
Starr Hill Beer Hall & Rooftop
Allie Hochman works as the General Manager of Starr Hill Beer Hall & Rooftop in Richmond, VA. A native of Long Island, NY, Allie has been a lifelong foodie. Her first job in the food industry was at a neighborhood pizzeria a block from where she grew up. After high school, she left New York to attend college at the University of Virginia. She earned a degree in biology and Italian and a minor in art history. In 2009, Allie joined Starr Hill’s team as a marketing and events intern. She also worked in Starr Hill’s tasting room. After graduating from UVA, she continued doing marketing and event planning for Starr Hill, as well as representing Starr Hill at festivals around the country. Eventually, Allie transitioned to a taproom manager at Starr Hill’s Crozet location. She then helped open the brewery’s Roanoke location. She also opened Starr Hill’s Richmond location, where she serves as the general manager. Allie is an active member of Richmond’s chapter of the Pink Boots Society, an organization that supports women and nonbinary individuals in the alcohol beverage industry. She serves as the club’s president.
