John Bryant
Old Tavern Farm
John Bryant is a fourth-generation farmer based in Quentin, Virginia, where he operates Old Tavern Farm, a historic property that has been in his family since the early 1900s. Born in Fairfax County, Virginia, John grew up with a deep appreciation for farming, spending much of his childhood helping on his grandparents’ farm. After earning degrees from Radford University and Virginia Commonwealth University, he pursued a corporate career before returning to his roots. At Old Tavern Farm, John practices innovative and sustainable agriculture, including regenerative farming techniques such as cover cropping and crop rotation. His efforts earned him a Clean Water Farm Award in 2023. Passionate about soil health and environmental stewardship, John integrates traditional methods with modern technology. In addition to farming, John is an artisan who enjoys working with his hands, including as a potter.
