2011 John Egerton Prize Winner: Phil Blank

In 2011, Phil Blank won the John Egerton Prize. Blank lives and works in Hillsborough, North Carolina, as a librarian and illustrator. He is fascinated by the stories of the south in all their historical richness. His work celebrates and explores foodways, music, class, and race struggles in the South. He is currently working on an illustrated sketchbook about food and culture along with his wife, April McGreger.
