2018 John Egerton Prize Winners: The Neighbor’s Field and Fresh Future Farm

Rebecca Smith and Germaine Jenkins

In 2018, SFA offered two prizes. One prize went to Fresh Future Farm, an urban farm and grocery market serving the local community in North Charleston, South Carolina. Germaine Jenkins, CEO of the farm and market director, represented the organization. The second prize was awarded to The Neighbor’s Field in Comer, Georgia, a project of Jubilee Partners that assists former refugees independently practicing sustainable agriculture. The Neighbor’s Field was represented by its coordinator, Rebecca Smith.

Pihakis Filmmaker Ava Lowrey produced two films about the honorees.
