ORAL HISTORY
Sarah Reyburn
Spoon Mountain Farm
Sarah Reyburn was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and spent her youth in the Northeast. She became interested in cooking and baking as a young adult, and came to Patrick County in 2012. In addition to baking for farmers markets and festivals, she also creates art, forages, farms, and runs an AirBNB and homestays for World Wide Opportunities for Organic Farms. She also sells goods and makes art beyond Patrick County in Floyd, Roanoke, and other areas miles away from her home in Meadows of Dan. She enjoys the flexibility and travel time that seasonal baking allows her. Her baking specialties include biscotti of all flavors, quick breads like banana bread and chocolate cherry quick bread, and shortbread. She incorporates fresh fruits and vegetables and quality flour to promote healthy eating in the region.
