ORAL HISTORY
Kirby Jones
La Vie En Rose Café
Kirby is a New Orleans native with local family ties dating back to the late 1800s. The women in her family passed down treasured recipes and a love for hosting. Now raising her own New Orleans family, Kirby is thrilled to cultivate a welcoming atmosphere and celebration of local culture at her café.
Initially conceived as a noteworthy pop–up with a citywide following, La Vie En Rose Café has grown steadily over the years. During king cake season, she offers a unique, rose–flavored Queen Cake as well as a crawfish–filled, “Don Creole” king cake. As her business continues to expand, Kirby is looking forward to upping production and bringing these Mardi Gras specialties to even more customers during Carnival seasons to come.
