2023 SFA Oral History Workshop

Are you interested in oral history? Do you have some family members you would like to interview? Do you want to know how to connect food and oral history?

Join the Southern Foodways Alliance for an introduction to oral history virtual workshop on June 24 at 10 am ET/9 am CT. This workshop will go over the basics of what an oral history is, how to prepare to conduct interviews, and a chance to practice interviewing and being interviewed. Hear from SFA’s lead Oral Historian Sarah I. Rodriguez and guest speaker Andre Taylor, Oral Historian for William & Mary, about how food and foodways can help us understand the potential of oral history work to teach us about history, people, and experiences.
