E is for Egerton

Today’s edition of The Bitter Southerner, an online publication edited and cofounded by SFA’s 2014 Egerton Prize Award Winner Chuck Reece, features an article by SFA director John T Edge about SFA founder John Egerton. (Yes, this is an SFA-centric endeavor.) It seems fitting that we share this article with you today, as we look forward to celebrating Egerton’s legacy at the inaugural John Egerton Prize Awards Ceremony in Nashville on August 12.

Take some time over your lunch break, or afternoon cocktail, to read this reflection on an inspiring man. His vision and values profoundly shaped the work of SFA. Learn about our “rabble-rousing, haiku spouting, book writing, close talking, sausage making, and South fixing” friend.

And consider joining us in Nashville. Event details for the awards ceremony are online here.
