2017 Southern Foodways Symposium Information for Attendees

We look forward to hosting you in Oxford. You should find all the information you need on this page.

Important items to note for when you arrive:

  • Registration is a drop in affair at the Powerhouse (corner of S. 14th and University Avenue), from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Stop by to pick up name tags and schedules, and then you’ll be free to check into your hotel room, wander to the Square, and relax on a balcony. If you are unable to pick up registration materials on Thursday, they will be available at the information desk throughout the weekend.

  • The first official event is a taco and cocktail reception that begins at 6:00 p.m. Our first presentation begins at 7:00 p.m. Dinner begins at 8:00 p.m.

  • Free parking is available in a lot behind the Powerhouse. Paid parking is available on the Square. Please do not park in the Powerhouse lot, even for a minute, because we need to keep those areas open for vehicles working on the evening’s event.
