Last weekend, Ralph Eubanks opened our Summer Symposium in Jackson, Mississippi, with a talk called “Why Mississippi Calls Me Home.” Eubanks, a native of Mount Olive, Mississippi, is the editor of the Virginia Quarterly Review and the author of Ever Is a Long Time: A Journey into Mississippi’s Dark Past.
