Team SFA has got New Orleans on the brain as we approach our Summer Symposium next month. So we couldn’t pass up the chance to showcase the legendary fried chicken at Willie Mae’s Scotch House. Thanks, @jarsforjam, for the #popsouth2015 shout out!
I promise we are doing more than just eating, but I had to post a photo of our late lunch at Willie Mae’s Scotch House. Located in the Seventh Ward, the restaurant was devastated by Hurricane Katrina. With the help of some kind folks, it was rebuilt and continues to be one of the best spots in New Orleans (and maybe anywhere) for fried chicken. The mac and cheese was super delicious, too. If y’all are interested the @southernfoodways site tells the story much better than this ‘ol Instagram blurb does!
