Camp Bacon: A Benefit Weekend

Camp Bacon kicked off this evening with the Bacon Ball (a.k.a dinner at Zingerman’s Roadhouse) in Ann Arbor, Michigan. There was a bacon pimento cheese deviled egg. There was a BLT salad, featuring Arkansas long pepper bacon lardons. The main dish was a Newsom’s country ham steak served with scallops and red eye gravy. Dessert was a rhubarb cobbler with chocolate bacon bourbon gravy and pecans. And did we mention the Camp Bacon Counselor cocktail sipped while Nancy Newsom explained how she’s the last country ham curer that works with the seasons, and doesn’t depend on refrigeration? All this bacon-y goodness is the start to a full weekend that benefits the SFA. Even if you missed tonight, there are a few spots left at Saturday’s camp events.
