Florida’s Coalition of Immokalee Workers at #SFA14

From slavery to sharecropping to slavery again: in the video above, see highlights from Food Chains and conversations with the Coalition of Immokalee Workers (CIW) at the 2014 SFA Symposium. The CIW advocates for better pay and working conditions for the 30,000 migrant laborers who pick the winter tomato crop in Florida. The SFA is grateful to have CIW staff member Nely Rodriguez speak on her experiences working at a tomato farm in Immokalee, Florida—describing the conditions as well as her work with the CIW and the ongoing Campaign for Fair Food.
