Each year, the Southern Foodways Alliance celebrates men and women whose lifework enriches Southern food culture. Seven SFA awards and honors recognize these cultural standard bearers.
Nadeen Bir is passionate about social justice issues. Since 2009, she has worked as Advocacy and Organizing Director at Student Action with Farmworkers, with the goal of involving more students and community members in the struggle for farmworker justice. In 2016, Nadeen became Program Director of the Into the Fields internship and fellowship program.
